September has been nothing short of a whirlwind, a month we’re calling Full Throttle September. Among the many adventures, Milan emerged as a city that captivates the senses, inviting you to explore, observe, and savor every corner.
Landing from Frankfurt, we were whisked through Milan’s streets in a sleek V-Class, passing a city that effortlessly blends history, art, and modernity. Milan isn’t just a destination; it’s a living gallery. Cyclists weave past historic façades, locals stroll with impeccably groomed dogs, and every wall seems to tell a story. Graffiti murals nestle beside timeless architecture, turning the city into a canvas at every turn.
Stay in Style: Excelsior Gallia Hotel
Our base in Milan was the Excelsior Gallia, a luxurious five-star hotel that’s part of the city’s skyline history. Perched adjacent to Milan’s iconic central train station, the hotel combines contemporary elegance with classic Italian charm. The lobby welcomes guests with marble floors, polished brass accents, and sweeping views of the city. Rooms are sophisticated and spacious, with city-facing windows that capture Milan’s rhythm from dawn to dusk. Whether visiting for leisure or business, the Gallia sets the tone for an experience that feels indulgent yet effortless.

Exploring the City
Milan is a city made to walk. From the Duomo, whose gothic spires pierce the sky and interiors dazzle with intricate stained glass, to the streets of the Quadrilatero della Moda, where fashion and architecture meet, the city hums with energy at every turn. Public transport is smooth, and fewer private cars make walking and cycling a pleasure. Milanese locals are effortlessly stylish, moving with a confidence that inspires rather than intimidates.
Food, Milanese Style
After hours of exploring, we discovered a charming Italian trattoria tucked down a cobbled street. The pizza was perfection—thin crust with a delicate crisp, topped with rich, flavorful tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella. Pasta dishes were simple yet indulgent, infused with herbs and olive oil that smelled like summer in Italy. Paired with a glass of sparkling Ruinart, the meal transforms into a sensory celebration of the city itself—warm, inviting, and full of life.
The Streets and Hidden Corners
Part of Milan’s charm is its unexpected surprises. Wander through Brera, Milan’s artsy district, and you’ll find boutique galleries, artisan shops, and cafés where espresso lingers in the air alongside the murmur of conversation. Graffiti walls and public sculptures invite pauses for photos or reflection, while the city hums around you. Every street has a story, every corner offers a slice of Milanese culture, and every step feels like a discovery.

This was just a glimpse of Milan, a city that balances history, style, and everyday beauty in a way few places can. There is more from this trip. Stay tuned for the next chapter of Full Throttle September.
