I am not a mother yet, but I know that raising teenagers is no easy task. Pleasing them can feel like chasing the wind. I think back to my own teenage years when my mom tried to keep me entertained with grooming classes since we could not afford big trips. My travels were mostly limited to visiting my grandmother, and at that age, my world revolved around city life. Going to the farm felt like punishment.
Travel is now a big part of my life as a blogger and travel creator. It is funny to think that I spent almost two years in Cape Town but never made it to Robben Island. Student life meant we only knew Bob’s Bar on Long Street. It was a running joke how someone would always come back without a phone thanks to pickpockets. I wonder if Long Street is still the same today.
