Our latest adventure led us to the freshly opened Ocean Basket Saxony Ilala in La Lucia, Durban, and from the moment we stepped in, we were transported. The chic, beach-inspired interior instantly sets a relaxed, sun-kissed vibe, while the sweeping ocean views invite you to pause, breathe, and soak in the horizon. We couldn’t resist trying a bit of everything. The fish burger was fresh and juicy, the hake perfectly crunchy yet tender, and the Reel Love Platter? A total showstopper, the panko prawns stole the spotlight. Sushi, while fresh, wasn’t our favourite this time, but the generous portions of succulent prawns and mussels drenched in that iconic creamy sauce more than made up for it. Top-notch service made the experience feel effortless and inviting, we’ll definitely be returning.
