Kramerville’s iconic rooftop at Katy’s Palace Bar provided the setting for an elevated midweek escape. Trading the usual Sandton evening rush for live acoustics, deliberate conversation, and crisp golden lager, guests gathered to celebrate the official return of Windhoek Lager’s classic 330ml bottle.
The inaugural Midweek Session was designed around a simple yet refined ethos: creating space for genuine connection in the middle of a demanding week. Anchoring the night was an unrepeatable cultural moment featuring iconic Mozambican band 340ml. In a clever nod to the host brand, the original four-piece group temporarily rebranded as 330ml for the night, delivering their unmistakable sonic chemistry and effortless dub-fused rhythms to an intimate crowd.
Throughout the evening, attendees were invited to answer a single curated question: “What’s your reason this week?” The responses captured the art of living in the moment:
- The Early Celebration: “Because I’m getting married on Saturday and wanted to start the celebrations early!” — Thabo Letsoalo
- The Fan Experience: “I’m a big fan of 340ml, so getting to see them live as 330ml for the night was a great reason to get out on a Wednesday.” — Thembisa Zulu
- The Cultural Twist: “A cold Windhoek Lager, a band in on their own joke, and a Wednesday that didn’t feel like a Wednesday. That’s a great reason worth getting out for.” — Shaun Mckenzie
“The return of the 330ml Lager bottle gave us an opportunity to remind people what Windhoek has always stood for—real beer enjoyed with real people,” noted Keval Ramraj, Marketing Manager at Windhoek Beer South Africa. “Tonight was about making space in the middle of a busy week to reconnect, share a reason, and enjoy great South African music together.”
Band member Tiago Correia-Paulo echoed the sentiment: “We need more reminders that we always thrive better as a community, and that we should get together as often as possible to celebrate each other.”
Windhoek’s Midweek Session served as a sleek reminder that effortless entertaining doesn’t require a major weekend holiday—just exceptional music, timeless taste, and great company.
Keep up with the movement:
