As sustainability continues to reshape the future of global travel, the GreenWorking Awards 2026 have officially opened entries, inviting tourism organisations, production companies, and creative agencies from around the world to submit their most compelling sustainable tourism videos.
Organised by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) in partnership with Spanish creative agency Normmal, the awards celebrate creative campaigns that combine exceptional storytelling with responsible tourism practices aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Registration is free and remains open until 21 September 2026, offering tourism brands and filmmakers the opportunity to gain international recognition for their commitment to sustainability through audiovisual storytelling.
Recognising Responsible Storytelling
Now in its second edition, the GreenWorking Awards continue to encourage the tourism industry to rethink not only the stories it tells, but how those stories are created.
Three award categories recognise excellence across different aspects of sustainable communication:
- GreenWorking Production Award – recognising environmentally responsible audiovisual production practices, including reduced emissions, efficient resource use, waste minimisation and responsible supplier selection.
- GreenWorking Message Award – honouring campaigns that communicate sustainability in meaningful and impactful ways.
- GreenWorking Global Award – presented to the campaign that successfully combines sustainable production with an outstanding sustainability narrative.
CIFFT Director Alexander V. Kammel believes the awards reflect an important shift within the industry.
“Tourism is one of the industries with the greatest reach into communities and ecosystems worldwide, and the stories it tells shape how millions of travellers behave. Rewarding productions that get this right helps move the entire industry forward.”
International Jury Brings Global Expertise
The 2026 judging panel brings together specialists in sustainability, tourism, marketing and audiovisual production, with representatives from organisations including UN Tourism, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), the European Travel Commission, the European Climate Pact, and Biosphere.
This year’s panel also includes Timeless Trends Magazine Founder and Editor Nokuthula Khwela, marking her first appointment as a jury member for the CIFFT Tourism Awards.
As Timeless Trends approaches its third anniversary, the invitation reflects the publication’s growing contribution to travel journalism and its commitment to highlighting responsible tourism, cultural storytelling and sustainable travel across Africa.
Celebrating the Future of Sustainable Tourism
The winners will be announced during the World Tourism Film Awards 2026, the prestigious finale of the CIFFT Circuit, which brings together nine leading tourism film festivals from across the globe.
For filmmakers, tourism boards and creative agencies, the GreenWorking Awards represent more than an international competition—they recognise the growing responsibility of tourism communications to inspire travel that benefits both people and the planet.
Entries close on 21 September 2026, with registration available free of charge through CIFFT.
