The 5th Annual South African Social Media Awards Nominees Announced

The South African Social Media Awards (SASMA) unveiled the official list of 2025 nominees on Friday, 15 August at an exclusive nominees’ luncheon hosted at Tempo, Sandton.

The highly anticipated event brought together the country’s most influential digital voices from creators and influencers to brands, agencies, and media powerhouses — all under one roof to celebrate the future of South Africa’s digital landscape.

With nominations now live, public voting is officially open at www.sasma.co.za. Fans across the nation are encouraged to cast their votes for their favourites at R2.50 per vote, standing behind the talent that inspires and leads online communities.

Beyond the announcement, SASMA unveiled its expanded 2025 programme, featuring:

• Pre-Awards Networking Brunch – connecting creators with industry leaders.
• Red Carpet Live Stream – bringing the glamour to digital audiences across South Africa.

Now in its 5th year, SASMA continues to cement its place as the country’s most prestigious stage for digital excellence, recognising individuals and brands shaping the creator economy.
